Submissions
Please review the following information about our show. If your show feels like a fit, fill out our proposal form to be considered for a spot.
Who should submit
Chicago area artists with proposals for:
- Solo shows (60 minutes or less)
- Group shows (60 minutes or less)
- Shorter pieces to be considered for shared performances
Format
Fillet of Solo focuses on solo performances with content that is first person and non-fiction. The writer/performer must be the same person.
Length
Fillet of Solo Weekly shows will have a maximum runtime of 50 minutes. This runtime applies whether the show features one performer, or several.
Experience
We welcome performers at all levels, from novice to veteran. We recommend that solo artists with limited experience submit a short-form (7-10 minute) piece. We will help you find a group of like-minded artists to be part of a shared performance.
Development
Artists are welcome to propose sections of a show in development as short-form stories — and are welcome to propose the full show later as well.
Production
Fillet of Solo provides a stage manager and can accommodate limited light and sound cues.
Set
A microphone, a music stand, and a stool or chair are always available.
